Freebies!

Heck yeah, free patterns! I'm going to try to have a new one every few months, but sometimes I get busy. They will be listed below, the newest at the top of the page! The images shown are low resolution, but you can easily download the PDF files in the links.

So be sure to check back every so often! And tell your friends!

Jeez, its taken me forever to make a new Freebie! Sorry folks. But enjoy this one, cause its Keep Portland Weird! Oh yeah, I think I may embroider this one on a T Shirt.

Three different sizes for three different applications! Go nuts!

I know, I need to make a May Freebie. There was lots of stuff going on around here, and it just didn't happen that month. I'll make it up to you, I promise!

This month though is in honor of my soon-to-be studio, Starla the Nomad Trailer. Also, in honor of the start of camping season, not that she will be doing much camping! I'm picturing these campers embroidered on some camping pillows, or curtains!

Have fun!

This month I am super excited to announce my new line of greeting cards you can embroider! This is one version of the kitty card, the other one (the one for sale) has the kitty holding the string frame. I thought that one was super adorable, rather than the regular - but still very adorable - one shown here.

To embroider this card follow the grey outline. Print the card onto a page of cardstock. Place on top of a foam pad, or folded towel and using a large needle or hatpin poke holes along the grey line every 1/8 of an inch or so. Then using a smaller needle and 3 strands of floss, back stitch the cat by going through the holes! Its fast and easy, and most of all, fun!

There are two cards on each page! Have fun!

March Freebie! download PDF here.

This month's freebie is a slightly altered version of a custom pattern that my friend ordered from me. She is embroidering it on pillowcases for a trip to Costa Rica with her friends. Lucky friends!

So even if you can't go to Costa Rica, you can put this bird on your jacket, or pillowcase!

February Freebie! download PDF here.

Hearts aflame and birdies aflyin', must be Feburary. Fun to embroider though, any time of the year. Practice your french knots with the "be mine" heart. By the end, you will have mastered the knot.

A little tip I just learned: when making your french knot, point your needle "north" on the fabric (or, away from you) as you stick the wrapped needle through the fabric, and the knots will turn out. Strange, but true!

I love tattoo-typie banners. They make me happy. And they lend themselves well to emboridery. Take these and blow 'em up or shrink 'em down, or use 'em like they are and have fun! Write names or dates, slogans or sayings-whatever-just have fun!
